Richard Gere will kick off the inaugural Aruba Film Festival on June 4th with “Hachi: A Dog’s Tale,” the story of one dog’s undying loyalty to his owner and friend.
Richard Gere will receive the Golden Aruba humanitarian award. Bernardo Bertolucci will receive a Golden Aruba for outstanding achievement in film. Both are scheduled to participate in a panel during the festival.
Aside from Gere and Bertolucci, other guests making the trek to the Caribbean island, 17 miles off the coast of Venezuela, include Arriaga, Martin Scorcese’s long-time editor, Thelma Schoonmaker and thesp Patricia Clarkson.
